THE AF MOTORS CAGLIARI RESPIRA COURSE

RUN THROUGH CAGLIARI. BREATHE IN ITS SOUL

AF Motors Cagliari Respira takes you on a 21.097 km journey through Cagliari. The single-loop course is mostly flat and runs primarily on paved roads, with a short stretch of approximately one kilometre through Molentargius Park.
The route takes you through the historic city centre, along the Poetto seafront and through the salt pans before finishing at the Fiera della Sardegna.
It’s a course designed for runners chasing a personal best, but also for anyone looking for a half marathon where every kilometre brings a change of scenery.

THE HEART OF THE CITY
WHERE IT ALL BEGINS

Starting on Viale Diaz, the course quickly heads into Cagliari’s historic centre, passing through Via
Roma, Largo Carlo Felice, Piazza Yenne and Corso Vittorio Emanuele.
For one day, traffic gives way to runners. Some of the city’s most iconic streets become a meeting
point for sport, history and people, creating a unique atmosphere from the very first kilometres.

THE SEA RUNS WITH YOU
ALONG THE POETTO SEAFRONT

Leaving the historic centre behind, the course opens up towards the Poetto seafront. This is where your breathing starts to fall into rhythm with the waves.
The scenery changes completely. For several kilometres, the Mediterranean runs alongside you on a wide, bright and breezy stretch that makes this one of the most memorable parts of the course.

WHERE NATURE SLOWS DOWN TIME
MOLENTARGIUS PARK

After the sea comes one of the most distinctive parts of the entire race.
The course enters Molentargius-Saline Regional Natural Park, winding past canals, historic salt pans and one of Sardinia’s most fascinating natural ecosystems.
The quiet, open landscape and pink flamingos make these kilometres feel unlike any other part of the race.

The final few meters
The finish line at the Sardinia Fairgrounds

The final kilometers lead back towards Su Siccu and the Sardinia Fair, where the crowd, the medal, and the thrill of the finish line await the participants.

Here, winter
has a different
color

End the season with the sea in your eyes and the sun on your face.

While much of Europe experiences short days, freezing temperatures, and grey skies in December, the running season in Cagliari offers a completely different experience. Here, you can run under the Mediterranean sun, breathing in the sea air and enjoying a mild climate that makes every kilometer even more enjoyable. It is one of the reasons why so many runners choose to end the year right here—with the light of Sardinia in their eyes and the sea by their side.
